Linda Slattery Sherman shows new work, much of which focuses on the environment as subject matter and the use of line as expression.
In the past two years Ms. Sherman has focused heavily on exploring gelatin printing. Making a variety of plate sizes herself with a combination of unflavored gelatin, glycerine and water. The results are highly experimental, often producing a surprise after each pull. Sherman says, "This is the fun of it. I get images that I would never get in painting alone." She will be conducting a workshop later this year at the Delaplaine in Frederick on gelatin printing, "printing without a press."
Returning to abstract painting as well, Linda is excited about the new larger works she is creating that involve the use of line, and bright color.
