In “Hidden in View,” Weinberg dedicates his entire exhibition to a study of an amazing, abandoned home hidden within a copse of trees just outside Frederick City. The home’s features whisper haunting hints about its long gone inhabitants. But, what truly sets this home apart from all the others that Weinberg has seen is that it never has been found by graffiti artists or, apparently, anyone else. It is pristine in a most messy, beautiful way.
Weinberg does not expect his subject to be with us much longer. He hoped that he could record its beauty before it fell to a wrecking ball. Luckily his hopes came true, and now you, too, will be able to see it in all its dilapidated beauty! Be aware, however, that Weinberg will not share the home’s location, unless you promise not to deface it or disclose it to anyone that might do the same.
