Surrealism isn’t just about visual art. Let your mind wander and join us for some fun experiments with words. All ages. No previous poetry experience necessary.
The surrealism movement began about 1920, and TAG is marking this 100th anniversary by filling the gallery with surrealist-inspired art.
Surrealism was an artistic and literary movement that celebrated the irrational, unconscious mind. Was it a response to an age of contraction and chaos? One of its founders, André Breton firmly believed that Surrealism was a revolutionary movement.
In the past three years, TAG has started its new year with shows of art in reaction to current politics and events. Will “SurREALLY?” veer into happier currents of the subconscious, or continue to be a call for revolution?
The members of TAG have invited artists in the community to join us in this exhibition.
