Pat Scull

Returning to the DC area after living in North Carolina for thirty years, Pat Scull is an explorer of artistic processes and mediums as she creates her own imaginary world using clay, paint, wood, found objects, and metal. Her imagery comes from an iconography that has evolved over many years as an artist. She loves to contrast the telescopic with the microscopic and is attracted to biological and organic shapes, perspective and scale, and to where humans fit into the general cosmos.
Pat graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA with a BFA in painting and studied printmaking at the Corcoran school of Art in Washington DC and UNC Chapel Hill. For over 20 years, Pat was represented by Lee Hansley Gallery in Raleigh, NC. She has shown her ceramic work nationally through the juried American Craft Council craft shows, Atlanta, Charlotte, Sarasota, Chicago, and Baltimore - Hand Workshop in Richmond - Washington Craft Show in Washington DC - Baltimore Clayworks, Baltimore - Crafts New York, in Manhattan - and the Smithsonian Craft Show also in Washington, DC. One of her pieces is now included in the permanent collection of the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC.
