As a child, my prized possessions consisted of paper, pens, pencils and paint and was happiest when I was drawing or painting. I began seriously painting as an adult after retirement from my career as a landscape architect. My preferred medium is mixed media to create abstract works exploring color, texture and movement in painting. Using acrylic paint and papers, I explore different techniques for creating visual interest with a focus on color juxtaposition, shapes, and line fluidity.

The natural landscape as well as the built environment inspire me. Whether it is an oddly laid brick sidewalk, an abandoned farmhouse or blowing grasses, I see it in terms of color blocking, contours, light and the massing of elements. It is my goal to capture this beauty and vibrancy of the world around us through the mixed media canvas.
