BE PART OF THE MAGIC
The Artists Gallery, Frederick’s premier artist-owned gallery, invites you to participate in the 14th Annual Box Show. It’s a fun and rewarding annual art tradition. For participating artists, it’s a great inventive experience, fostering originality and ingenuity while also providing an opportunity to have fun, step ‘out of the box’ and support TAG. Thirteen years have proved, “The sky is the limit with your imagination and creativity totally set free!”
The Box Show is always highly anticipated and brings many people into the gallery. Collectors return year after year to add to their personal highly-prized Box Collections. Over sixty artists, past and new participants, will submit entries this year.
THE RETURN OF THE CUBE
The past two Annual Box Shows have featured first cradled wood panels and then re-purposed cigar boxes. This year the gallery looks to its beginnings and traditions using 8 x 8 x 8 inch plywood boxes and THE RETURN OF THE CUBE.
HOW IT WORKS
SILENT AUCTION This month long event is a Silent Auction with bids starting at $50. Bid sheets are placed next to each Box with the artist’s name and the name of the piece.
MINI ARTISTS STATEMENTS is a handout with a descriptive line about the artist and/or the piece –provide an opportunity to publicize both the artists and their work and offer attendees a take home reminder of the pieces they are following.
DONATIONS Gallery members donate 100% of their sales proceeds to the gallery’s operating fund. Non-member guest artists donate 50% – with the option to contribute 100% to help the Gallery if they wish.
CLOSING RECEPTION While the event runs for the entire month of March, many buyers hold back on final bids for their favorite pieces until the very end, making attendance at the March 28th closing reception – with bidding ending at 8 pm sharp – a must-attend, whether you are buying or selling.

Sign up and pick up your box during regular hours at TAG/The Artists Gallery, Friday - Sunday, 12 - 5 pm.

Complete application online form and submit with artwork Feb 27th, 28th and March 1st, 12 - 5 pm.

All Box Show Artists need to EMAIL a “Mini Statement” THIRTY WORDS MAXIMUM to nanmac2625@frontiernet.net.
Deadline is February14, 2015. -
Completed work must be ready for either display on pedestals or hanging on the wall with hanging wire.

Wet work will not be accepted.

All work must be tagged on the back with title and artist’s name.
Participating artists receive 14th Annual Box Show promotional postcards to distribute to friends and patrons, helping to publicize the show and its treasures.
*The Artists’ Gallery reserves the right to reject art work which “is not properly prepared for exhibition,” or, “in the view of the Gallery is deemed unsuitable for display.”
