“No man is an island entire of itself; every man a piece of the continent, a part of the main.“
John Donne, 1624

The same can be said about artists, we are all influenced by what we see, what we know, where we’ve been and who we are. It is impossible to create in a vacuum. The paintings and drawings in this exhibit draw on my past experience in many disciplines and styles.

Landscapes, still lifes, portraits, as well as ceramics, influence this body of work although in some cases very loosely. The beauty of abstracts is that they allow the creator and the viewer the freedom of interpretation based on their visual sensitivities and their experience.
