In this two-woman show, Colleen Clapp and Marion L. Griffin have joined forces in exploring the unique possibilities of cold wax medium combined with oil paint.

Like excavators who dig, scrape, and scratch at the surface of the earth, Clapp and Griffin take a similar approach to their work. The process of working with layers of paint and wax medium reveals unpredictable, visual patterns evocotive of unearthed walls, temples and ancient caves. This “unearthing” process is where the real breakthroughs happen and exciting discoveries unfold.

Both artists using essentially the same techniques and tools show their distinctive style and unique approach to their art. Clapp and Griffin will be presenting over twenty new works including a collaborative creation that promises to “wow.”
