As a child I was enamored with art—spending time drawing, painting, and studying paintings of the great masters. Years later I was fortunate to find a photo workshop where I saw the work of some amazing and well known photographers—that is where a love of the medium of photography truly began for me and which has not changed since. This show titled "Glimpses of Nirvana" is about my search for the beauty around me both near and far.
I enjoy images that come easily and have an immediate recognizable beauty. However I find much more interest in those images that I have looked at more deeply and have led to darker places that I might even be afraid to enter. When an image grows slowly on myself, and the viewer, then I have reached a richer and more meaningful experience—perhaps Nirvana—the ultimate expression of my quest.
