OPENING RECEPTION

TAG/The Artists Gallery will present a show in January entitled "It's Not Always Pretty.”  Work by gallery members and invited guest artists will comment on pressing issues that confront our world today. The exhibition will include thought-provoking and confrontational looks on hard subjects including pollution, climate change, injustice, human rights, immigration, war, politics, and poverty.

It won’t all be serious. Expect some of the work to be comical or abstract— and some of it, despite the show’s title, to even be beautiful. The goal?  To start conversations and bring the community together to talk about what’s important to us.

 Johan Lowie, "Ypres Salient"

Wendell Poindexter, "The Wildeyed Boy from Freecloud"

Jo Israelson, "365 Prayers For Peace"
