Jan McIntyre-Creager/ Painter and print maker.

For the past few years Jan has been experimenting with techniques using oil paint and cold wax medium. Most recently she is working with texture and color layering to build imagery she hopes will convey the motion and mystery of the fishes in their habitat.

Her process begins with an idea she wants to work on. Something noticed in the news or imagery from an observation or a conversation may be the catalyst from which her process begins. With each applied layer there is an opportunity to make adjustments or changes to the proposed image giving the satisfaction of creation to the artist.

Jan is retired from teaching and works from her studio in Frederick, MD.
