PAULA-RUBIN-WEXLER will have a solo exhibition of paintings at TAG/The Artists Gallery in April. Rubin-Wexler is known for her big skies and abstracted landscapes. Her latest exhibit, “Mostly Landscapes: A Point of View,” showcases her deep understanding of the moods, colors and atmosphere of the vistas she loves to paint. Primarily a plein air painter, her work celebrates the sights, sounds and feelings she experiences while painting on location. Color, light and spirit are central to her work, which has been described as having a Zen-like quality and a compelling simplicity. Using direct observation, Rubin-Wexler's award-winning work is often painted 'alla prima,' done in one sitting. She responds to the essence of the moment and her greatest hope is to leave the viewer with the same sense of tranquility that she feels while painting. A native New Yorker, Rubin-Wexler enjoyed a successful career in advertising, opening her own agency and producing award-winning campaigns. She now resides in Frederick. Her most recent solo exhibits were at Artique Underground Gallery at VOLT, and at the Blue Streak Gallery in Delaware. Her work is in public and private collections in North America and Europe.

In addition TAG will have a new show of work by members of the gallery. These shows all run from April 1 through May 1, with a reception from 5 to 9pm during First Saturday on
April 2.

Join us as an Associate Member!

TAG/The Artists Gallery, now in a larger downtown Frederick space, is excited to offer artists the opportunity to join the gallery as an Associate Member. Associates enjoy the benefits of being part of an established artist owned gallery without the responsibilities of running the gallery.  We only have a few spaces left!
